It's spring y'all!

The effects of the beautifully blooming goldenrod have turned us into mouth-breathers- no complaints here though! I will take 65 and sunny over 6 and gray ANY.DAY.

Spring fever has us yearning for a garden. We couldn't wait to get seeds started inside. Along with every variety of herbs imaginable, our garden is going to be full of lots of veggies.

Sowing seeds indoors will save you a good deal of money. We have great southern exposure in our living room, and the seeds have done well getting started there. These peas are almost ready to be planted outside.

Our salad fixins' are staying in containers this year to give them a better chance at growing.

I stopped at a local flea market and got a great deal on old wash basins. After drilling a few holes into the bottom for drainage, I added water bottles and packing materials and filled them with soil. This will allow me to be able to pick them up and move them. Keeping them close to the house will give me quick access to my greens.

Spinach, Red Kale, and Rocket salad can be quite hardy , so I decided to get them growing outside quickly. They will be ready to eat in just 4-6 weeks, and will regrow shoots if then are cut about an inch above the base.

After filling the wash tubs with soil I planted and watered. After just a few days and a good rain they have grown roots into their new home and are enjoying the sunshine.

I'm excited to share the rest of my garden with you- it will be planted in just a couple weeks.
